Joan Didion

This series of Joan Didion novels is the combination of found letterpress ink errors, type experiments, and photographs that I took to represent Joan Didion’s writing style. When she works on a book, she brings the transcripts to bed with her, wakes up with them, pins them on the wall by the afternoon and approaches them with edits day after day, reworking them. She lives with them as an evolving friend, so I shot the backdrop photographs in the morning, afternoon, and evening light in the environments she would bring her work.
